Competitive Actuation 001 - Final result
Dear members, watchers and friends ~coffeedanceplz (https://www.deviantart.com/coffeedanceplz)
now our little adventure of organizing our first contest comes to it's end and I'm proud to present you the winners. :woohoo:
As written in the contest description the winners were choosen by a combination (50/50) of the votes of polls and the votes from the jury. This to be as fair as possible. I know there are many ways to get votes in polls. ;-)
And a result of this mixed voting is, that we have had a split decision for the third place and consequently two third places.
But now enough :blahblah:. Here are our wonderful winners

Pastel Coloured Plant Squares Feature
Hurray! I'm doing a feature at least, Kara-a (https://www.deviantart.com/kara-a) motivated me with her little contest c: so, my dear watchers and visitors, for all of you, I collected a bunch of pastel coloured plants in square format. A really long theme, but there are so many great works out there so I had to specify it. Hopefully you'll get it as "colour themed" feature, Kara-a (https://www.deviantart.com/kara-a)! (:

As you know, I normally don't do (features) Journals.
The exception goes to those photographers that had some historical importance in the photography World, those that influence (d) me, those that I believe can move others like they moved me, humanitarian photographers, and that normally live in the "shadow" of the same old Features and references.
And that is why today I bring you Chan Kwok Hung.
He is is a Hong Kong based, self taught travel photographer. He acquired his first DSLR camera in 2006. With artistic vision and passion he has embarked on his extensive journeys to less developed countries such as Myanmar, Nepal, Eygpt, Cambod
Photography Troubleshooting: Tripod or not? by Kaz-D, journal
Photography Troubleshooting: Tripod or not?
In a recent issue of Photography Weekly we talked about tripods and whether or not it's worth using one and what alternatives there are. I think it was safely concluded that using a tripod is better than not at all - but there are certain situations when you can do something else or when a tripod isn't necessary. Sometimes it's really hard to pick out the moments when it might be needed. Quite often you could end up out walking for miles carrying a tripod that weighs the same as a small elephant - and you don't even use it. So what are some useful tips?

Firstly, find a tripod that DOESN'T weigh the same as a small elepha

Photography Troubleshooting: Dull Images on dA?
After a long pause in which nobody seemed to have very many questions, we've got a very intriguing one which came up during the People & Portraits projecteducate (https://www.deviantart.com/projecteducate) week and it's something that has always played on my mind, and no doubt on yours too. Once again sine-out (https://www.deviantart.com/sine-out) has provided a fantastic answer, so hopefully that will help somewhat in clearing this issue up. Have a question? Drop it on this article and we'll work on an answer!
